In Autumn 2025, the Welsh Government and the Wales Council for Voluntary Action ran a Challenge Fund, seeking to appoint Coastal Coordinators to help strengthen coastal capacity across Wales.
These new roles will help to improve engagement, encourage collaboration and support work that contributes to resilient coastal and marine ecosystems. These appointments will mark an important step in improving place-based support and widening involvement in decisions that shape the future of the coast of Wales.
The new Coordinators will be based in the Severn Estuary Partnership, Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum and Gwynedd Council – more information will follow soon!
