Membership
Membership of CaSP Cymru aims to be as inclusive as possible ensuring appropriate representation from all who have an interest in the marine area of Wales (communities and coastal partnerships, environment, local government, recreation and leisure, and business sectors e.g. energy and fishing).
1. Core Partnership Members
The Core Partnership is made up of those organisations with a national role, a pan Wales remit or recognised expertise in the marine and coastal sector.
This approach helps maintain a balanced, representative, and manageable membership.
Sectors represented include:
- Aquaculture
- Aggregates and seabed industries
- Coastal community partnerships
- Fishing and marine heritage
- Nature conservation and biodiversity bodies
- Ports and shipping
- Recreation and leisure
- Marine energy and renewables
- Tourism
- Public bodies, universities, and Welsh Government departments
The Terms of Reference and contact details for the Core Partnership can be found here.
2. Wider Contributors: Working Groups Members
Not all organisations will meet the criteria for the core Partnership. However, many other groups and organisations are involved through our Working Groups:
The Welsh Ocean Literacy Coalition brings together more than 60 organisations to help deliver the Y Môr a Ni Ocean Literacy Strategy.
The Blue Investment Working Group developed the MARINE Fund Cymru and shares knowledge and information to increase blue investment in Wales.
The Coastal Capacity Building Working Group supports the growth of capacity and skills across coastal communities, and improves join up between national priorities and local delivery.
The Marine Biodiversity Expert Group advises on marine biodiversity, monitoring and evidence needs.
These groups are open to a wide range of partners, including local initiatives, community groups, academic specialists, and sector organisations that may not operate on a national scale.
